Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center rehab specialists are now available in Elk Rapids.
Elk Rapids Physical Therapy will join six other Munson Healthcare outpatient rehabilitation clinics in the region as part of the Munson Medical Center, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital joint operating agreement that allows the Grand Rapids-based rehabilitation hospital to share its expertise in northern Michigan.
The clinic will be renamed Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center – Elk Rapids.
“One of our largest goals is to deliver high quality, close-to-home care for patients, including access to an extensive scope of specialty care,” said Derk Pronger, chief operating officer at Munson Medical Center. “Expanding this special partnership to other areas makes this expert care possible for a new community of people.”
Elk Rapids Physical Therapy owner Rhonda Baker Lammers, P.T., who is set to retire next month after 28 years, said when considering the transition of her clinic, Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center became the obvious choice.
“My goals were to ensure that the new owners would be committed to providing quality physical therapy services to the community in the long run and that my employees would be taken care of,” she said. “I feel confident that Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center is the best fit for all of us. I am extremely grateful to the physicians and the community for their support and confidence in choosing Elk Rapids Physical Therapy and wish everyone the best of health in the years to come.”
Mary Free Bed at Munson Medical Center Program Director Jill Slagal, P.T., said the team looks forward to offering services, including general physical therapy, orthopedics, sports medicine, balance and vestibular training to Elk Rapids.

The clinic is located at 128 Ames St. in Elk Rapids. Operating hours will be Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Friday, 8 a.m. - noon.
