Manistee Hospital Offers Sports Medicine Evaluation This Fall

08.30.2018

Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital’s Sports Medicine program offers free drop-in evaluations for any Manistee County high school athlete with injuries or concerns on specified Monday evenings this fall.

Orthopedic surgeon Mark D’Angelo, D.O., athletic trainer Kevin Kott, ATC, and other professionals will provide their services between 5 - 6 p.m. in the Manistee Hospital Rehabilitation Department. The clinics will be offered on Sept. 10 and 24; Oct. 8 and 22; Nov. 5 and 19; and Dec. 10.

“We see this as a way to allay any concerns or point an athlete and his or her family toward the right treatment solution,” Dr. D’Angelo said. “This program will offer free evaluations, but this clinic is not set up to provide actual treatments.” Students with needing further care will be referred for medical treatment.

Students under 18 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Questions may be directed to Kott at kkott2@mhc.net.

The Rehabilitation Department is located in the lower level of the hospital at 1465 E. Parkdale Ave. in Manistee.
