During the month of February, Munson Medical Center encourages you to raise awareness and learn more about heart disease by participating in the following Heart to Heart Events:
February 7 is National Wear Red Day
The American Heart Association has designated Feb. 7 as National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about the fight against heart disease in women. Wear red to work, to play, or wherever else your day takes you.
Heart to Heart Screenings will be held the weeks of Feb. 10 and 17 at Munson Community Health Center
Screening are performed by a registered nurse who has been specially trained to provide this service. We do the following tests and assessments, and spend time reviewing what the numbers mean for your heart health.
- Blood pressure
- Blood test for glucose, lipid profile, and cholesterol levels
- Body mass index
- Depression and stress level assessment
- Family medical history review
- Nutrition review
- Smoking and alcohol assessment
Participants leave with a personalized action plan including risk factor reduction materials, steps for improving heart health, and referrals for further cardiac care as needed. Cost is $55.
