Lecture Series Shines Light on Dangers of Skin Cancer
Noted MSU College of Human Medicine professor will speak Thursday, Nov. 29

One in five Americans will be diagnosed with skin cancer sometime during his or her life.

Michigan State University College of Human Medicine professor Brian J. Nickoloff, M.D., Ph.D., will present information on new findings and methods for detecting and treating skin cancers at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 29 in Munson Medical Center Conference Rooms 1 - 3. The presentation is free and open to the public.

National statistics reveal skin cancer is the most common form of cancer and accounts for nearly half of all cancers. This year alone, nearly 75,000 people in the nation will be diagnosed with melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer.

Dr. Nickoloff is a member of the national “Stand Up to Cancer Melanoma Dream Team.” His address is part of the “Your Health Lecture Series” presented as a collaboration of Michigan State University, Northwestern Michigan College, and Munson Medical Center.

Munson Medical Center is located at 1105 Sixth St. in Traverse City.
