Cardiologist shares practical ways to prevent and manage heart disease
Preventive maintenance not only keeps automobiles operating, but hearts ticking.
Consider that 2,200 Americans die of cardiovascular disease every day. Nearly every 34 seconds an American will have a heart attack, and every minute someone will die of one.
Cardiologist Dino Recchia, M.D., F.A.C.C., will discuss practical ways to prevent and manage heart disease at the presentation “An Owner’s Guide for Your Heart – 2013 Edition” from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 11, at Munson Medical Center’s Conference Rooms 1 - 3. Refreshments will be served.
Dr. Recchia will offer a no-nonsense approach to understanding the causes and treatments of various forms of heart disease. Discussion will include risk factors and screening techniques, new findings and treatment options, and the effects of heart disease on both genders. Time will be set aside for questions from participants.
The program is free and open to the public, however registration is required. For more information or to register, call 1-888-838-9160.
Participants are encouraged to wear red to raise awareness about women and heart disease.
Munson Medical Center is located at 1105 Sixth St. in Traverse City.
