Understanding Why Working Memory is Important

Psychiatrist will share how memory training benefits young, old

Whether it is helping dad find the car keys or daughter with her geometry formulas, working memory training is proving to be helpful for adults as well as children.

Research also is under way to determine whether this training can benefit stroke victims and older adults experiencing memory deficits.

Psychiatrist Sander Weckstein, MD, will present a public program on why working memory is important from 6 - 7:30 pm, Tuesday, July 26, in Munson Medical Center’s Conference Center. He will explain what working memory is and the potential benefits of working memory training.

Dr. Weckstein is a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist in private practice at Northern Michigan Psychiatric Services, PC, in Traverse City.

While the program is free and open to the public, registration is requested by calling the Munson Community Health Library at (231) 935-9265.

Munson Medical Center is located at 1105 Sixth St. in Traverse City.
