Dental hygienist presents program on good oral health
Recent studies continue to research potential links between poor dental health and heart disease.
Research shows there is a possible relationship between the health of one’s gums and the overall health of the body. While this does not show a definite “cause and effect” link, it does show that maintaining good dental health may protect the heart and overall health.
The right dental care is really important for cardiac, diabetic, and joint replacement patients.
Registered dental hygienist Michelle Smith, RDH, will present a community program discussing the importance of regular dental checkups and maintaining good oral health from 6 - 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 6, at Munson Community Health Center, Meeting Room A & B.
Smith works at Associates in Family Dentistry, 10850 E. Traverse Highway, Suite 2250, in Traverse City. While the program is free and open to the public, registration is required. For more information, or to register, call (231) 935-9265.
Munson Community Health Center is located at 550 Munson Ave. in Traverse City.
