Kalkaska Memorial Health Center Offers Ostomy Support Group

Kalkaska Memorial Health Center (KMHC) is looking for community members in the area who may be interested in participating in an ostomy support group.

The purpose of this effort is to develop a local organization that provides support for persons who have lost the normal function of their bowel or bladder and now have a colostomy, ileostomy, urostomy, or alternate procedure.  The group is designed to encourage and maintain a personal exchange of ideas and methods for the improvement of living with an ostomy, as well as to provide education and support, and other assistance as required.  It also connects patients, families, friends, and caregivers for general support and inspiration.

Carrie Crandall, RN and Certified Wound Specialist, will be coordinating the group.  If you are interested in being a part of this new initiative, please contact Carrie at (231) 258-7539.
