18th Annual Love Light Celebration Successful

The 18th annual Love Light Celebration at Traverse City Art and Design Studio drew more than 40 participants to enjoy inspiring artwork, reflect on the lives of loved ones, and enjoy fellowship with others.

The Rev. Homer Nye spoke during the service and encouraged participants to reflect back and also move forward in their lives.

“About 10 years ago my wife died and that was the first time I came to one of these events,” he said. “My life has moved on, but the touch that my wife Polly gave me is what allowed me to move on. And I wasn’t able to get in touch with that touch until I came to an event like this.”

Munson Home Care President Shari Wilson said this year’s celebration was a change from the past and featured the use of votive candles rather than lighting a Love Light tree.

“We wanted to symbolize the Love Light part of the ceremony,” she said. Participants enjoyed refreshments as they mingled, and took in the studio’s art.
