Physical Therapy


Physical Therapists practice in hospitals, private therapy offices, community health centers, industrial health centers, sports facilities, rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, schools, or pediatric centers.

Requirements

Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy (minimum current educational requirement is a master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited education program. Doctorate in physical therapy is now available too.)
Current Michigan license to practice physical therapy
Previous clinical experience desirable but not mandatory for this position

Specific Duties

  • Evaluates, plans, and administers physical therapy treatment within departmental accepted standards of practice Maintains awareness of patient's condition, attitudes, and limitations; Recognizes adverse patient reactions or conditions and makes appropriate reports to the Munson Medical Center Rehab Therapies Manager and/or the patient's physician.
  • Maintains timely and appropriate documentation on patient records
  • Facilitates referrals to other departments (e.g. Return to Work, Home Care, Hand Therapy) for continuum of care
