Requirements

Completion of an AMA approved course in Radiologic Technology Pass examination of American Registry Radiologic Technologists
On the job training can be provided for specialties in CT and MRI
Registered Sonographer of American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers — 2 year degree, 1 year classroom, 1 year clinicals

For ultrasound training, applicants can go directly to an accredited college program (see below)

Specific Duties

  • X-rays patients as directed Selects and operates equipment including loading film cassettes
  • Assists physicians in performance of examinations by mixing and pouring contrast media, and holding and turning patients
