Lisa Dohm is a junior high teacher who struggled with weight her entire life. She attended her first Weight Watchers meeting at age 8. Lisa is a cautious woman. She researched bariatric surgery for 10 years before deciding to have the procedure.
“I’m a mom with three children and I’m not a gambler. I watched as the surgery was perfected and the mortality rates dropped. I spent a decade getting as educated as I possibly could about every aspect of the surgery.”
Lisa lost 125 pounds in the first year after surgery. At age 40, she’s become a runner. “I never have run in my life. My whole life has improved in every area — professionally and personally. I’ve had no complications whatsoever. Before the surgery, I couldn’t keep up with my children’s lives — now I can.”
Her advice to others: “Follow the program. It’s been designed for your benefit. You need to commit to it.”
