There are three different therapy groups involved
in treatment. Each level of care offers the patient an opportunity
for professional assessment, treatment planning, intervention,
and referral.
Inpatient Therapy Group meets daily in
Munson Medical Centers Mental Health Unit where detoxification
and 24-hour acute care services are provided.
Partial Hospitalization Therapy Group meets
daily in Munson Medical Centers Partial Hospitalization
Program, designed for patients who are appropriate for intensive
community-based care.
Aftercare Therapy Group meets weekly at
Munson Medical Centers Alcohol and Drug Treatment Center.
This outpatient group focuses on preventing relapses for adults
recovering from dual disorders.
Goals
The initial goal for the patient is the acceptance
of the dual recovery process. Other objectives include having
the patient:
Create a sober lifestyle.
Learn about mental illness, medication
compliance, chemical abuse, and other addictive behaviors.
Develop an awareness, acceptance, and responsibility
for a healthy lifestyle.
Develop coping skills to manage symptoms.
Understand and use self-help groups such
as Dual Recovery Anonymous (DRA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA),
Narcotics Anonymous (NA), and Gamblers Anonymous (GA)
Prepare a strategic relapse prevention
plan.
Admission
The program accepts referrals from professionals,
family members, or friends of the person in need of care.
Payment
Program fees will be discussed and financial
arrangements can be made during the admission process. Munson
Healthcare accepts private payments, most insurances, and Medicare/Medicaid.
