I Can Cope
This educational series is for individuals
with cancer, their family members and friends, and is sponsored
by the American
Cancer Society. It is facilitated by an oncology social worker
and clinical nurse specialist. The course is designed to empower
participants to cope with various aspects of the cancer experience.
Throughout the course, information relevant to cancer and its
treatment is presented to enhance skills needed for self-care,
as well as to promote physical and emotional well-being. Course
highlights include:
Skin care, make-up and hairstyle alternatives
to improve self-esteem during and after cancer treatment. No charge.

A support group for persons experiencing
limb swelling for any reason. Meetings are held on the fourth
Tuesday of the month, 7 - 9 pm, from April through October only,
at Munson Community Health Center. This program is sponsored in
part by Munson Medical Center.
This program pairs women with an abnormal
finding or a diagnosis of breast cancer with a Navigator companion.
Breast cancer survivors themselves, Navigator companions offer
emotional support, share information and help guide patients and
their family members from diagnosis through treatment.
For men with prostate cancer and their significant
others. Us Too is an independent network of support groups with
chapters across the nation.
