Cancer treatment may be provided on an outpatient
basis. This means chemotherapy,
radiation
therapy, and other cancer care is received without being admitted
to the hospital. Treatment may be given at your health care provider's
office and/or at Munson Medical Center.
Cancer treatment is usually determined by
the patient's type of cancer, the stage of cancer, and other factors.
The patient and their health care provider(s) will decide on the
best treatment.
Integrative
Medicine, combining traditional and alternative medicine,
is also available during outpatient cancer treatment to promote
physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual healing. Cancer patients
are offered stress management, nutrition and spiritual guidance,
gentle movement and exercise, yoga, support groups, and relaxation
therapy to complement their treatment.
