Donating Feels Good

Every day, someone in northern Michigan is facing a new, often frightening diagnosis. The good news is that because of donor support, most people can get the advanced care and services they need close to home. Our donors generously support the purchase of new technology and updated facilities that attract the best and brightest physicians, nurses, and other specialists to our region. Nearly everywhere you look on our medical campus is a building that exists because donors responded to a community need.

Most donors never meet the people they help, but that doesn’t diminish the satisfaction they get from being donors. Ask Jim Searls of Benzie County. Jim is a big believer in sharing his time, talent, and treasure and has made major gifts to Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital and Munson Hospice. “In a way, it’s selfish because I really feel good doing it. Everything you do, you get back in spades. Whatever helps the community helps me too.”
