In partnership with Traverse Heart & Vascular, a service of Munson Medical Center, Benzie area residents can see a Munson cardiologist at Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital for diagnostic and follow-up heart care. Patients who need to undergo a heart procedure have full access to the technology, techniques, and award-winning care provided by Munson’s team of heart experts at the 127-bed Webber Heart Center in Traverse City. Following their heart procedure, patients can complete their cardiac rehabilitation and have their follow-up visits with a cardiologist at Paul Oliver.

Participation in a research trial for a new heart attack-detecting defibrillator is giving patient Ron Ramsey his life back. Munson Medical Center has been involved in groundbreaking cardiovascular research since 2007, enrolling over 500 people from all over northern Michigan in more than 20 different studies for innovative new drugs and procedures not yet available to the general public. Groundbreaking Heart Care: TAVR
Dick Sharkey was not a candidate for another invasive heart surgery, so his cardiologist recommended a new, minimally-invasive procedure called transcatheter aortic valve replacement or TAVR. Munson Medical Center began offering the new procedure in September 2012. Watch Video
