Manistee Hospital Emergency Department Renovation Project
In September 2021, we reached our goal of $1 million raised through philanthropy to support the renovation of the Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital Emergency Department! Thank you to everyone who contributed to this project.

We are still accepting donations to support additional equipment needs in the Manistee Hospital Emergency Department. Your gift, no matter the size, makes it possible for patients in the Manistee community to receive enhanced emergency care.
By nature, medical emergencies are unexpected, and often life-threatening injuries or illnesses. Not being able to breathe or experiencing a heart attack can be terrifying. Regardless, when you or a loved one experience a medical emergency only one thing matters—getting medical help fast.
At Munson Healthcare Manistee Hospital, we are dedicated to providing superior quality to our patients and focused on delivering the right care, at the right time, in the right place. To provide our patients with the healing environment they need in an emergency situation, a renovation plan is underway.
Our emergency department is open 24 hours every day and provides care for roughly 15,000 patients each year – nearly double the patient volume since the department’s last renovation in 1991. Our health care team includes emergency medicine specialists and specialty trained teams of physician assistants, nurses, and technicians.

- Crowded clinical work areas that do not accommodate efficient workflow
- Curtains between patient rooms
- Disconnected waiting room
- Unsecured entrances and exits

- Reconfigured clinical workspace to improve patient flow
- Redesigned Emergency Department with fewer entrances and exits
- Additional leading-edge diagnostic and monitoring equipment
