Munson Health

Lorraine Beers

Lorraine Beers of Traverse City serves on the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation Board of Trustees. She is a breast cancer survivor and was actively involved in the efforts to fund a new Breast Health Center in Traverse City.

Beers is a long-time Munson Medical Center employee. She currently works as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Munson Infectious Disease Consultants. Many of her patients are preparing for overseas travel, requiring vaccinations and medication. "Having traveled a great deal myself, both to volunteer as well as for pleasure, I’ve seen how important health care is to every community," she said.

Munson has played an important role in her personal and family life as well. Her husband and daughter were both born at Munson, and her husband’s grandmother was co-founder of Munson’s Auxiliary.

"I’m committed to helping ensure that Munson maintains its excellent reputation for quality and compassionate care, and that we assess and provide the services our region will need for the future," she said. "As a patient, provider, and an employee, I have a vested interest in supporting Munson in its efforts to provide the best services possible."
