The Katie Heintz Tournament first began in 2006 as a memorial for Katie Heintz, a 16-year-old St. Francis student who died of leukemia. At the time of her illness, there were limited Northern Michigan options for pediatric cancer treatment. A collaboration between Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and Munson Medical Center has since established a clinic to treat pediatric hematology and oncology patients at the Cowell Family Cancer Center in Traverse City.

This tournament has raised nearly $218,000 to date!
