Do it 10,000 Times a Day

The first time you took a step on your own, your parents cheered. These days, probably nobody is applauding or snapping photos when you put one foot in front of another, but it’s still a great thing for you to do. According to experts, you need to rack up 10,000 steps a day to get the most benefit. Walking can add years to your life, help you lose weight, boost your mood, improve your sleep, reduce your risk of heart disease and cancer, keep your bones and keep your brain healthy. Half of your 10,000 steps can easily come from your normal daily routine. Just add a morning walk around the neighborhood or on the treadmill, or an after-dinner stroll to get in the rest.
