Love Light Ceremony Honors Loved Ones
Annual service is set for Dec. 2 at First Congregational Church

The 17th annual Munson Hospice Love Light Ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 2, at First Congregational Church in Traverse City.

The Love Light tradition involves a memorial ceremony and tree lighting that allows families to honor loved ones they miss during the holidays. Pre-service music will begin at 1:45 p.m. and a reception will follow the service in the Fireside Room.

This year’s speaker, Pastor Peter Moon, will present “The Grieving Process.” He is the founding pastor of Harbor Light Christian Center in Traverse City and during the past 12 years has had several opportunities to experience Munson Hospice care through church members, friends, and his mother-in-law, who passed away in 2010.

Donations are accepted and will be used to fund the work of Munson Hospice. Donors may choose to have the names of their loved ones read in remembrance of them.

Throughout December and January, the Love Light Tree and the memory book containing the names of deceased loved ones will be located in the Munson Community Health Center lobby near Urgent Care. Three additional Love Light Trees located on the lawn in front of Munson Medical Center’s main entrance will be lit during the month of December.

Information about donating to Munson Hospice is available through the Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation at (231) 935-6482 or 1-800-252-2065.
