New Procedure Helping Munson Asthma Patients

Certain asthma patients in northern Michigan suffering from the condition may be eligible for a new procedure that has been shown to reduce asthma attacks by one-third. The Alair® Bronchial Thermoplasty System recently was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for patients 18 years old and older who suffer from severe persistent asthma that cannot be controlled by inhaled corticosteroids and other standard-of-care treatments.

A legacy of Karolina Holtrey’s foresight and care for the Frankfort community continues to benefit the lives of others. Her $250,000 legacy gift, bequeathed shortly before her death in 2000, helped fund the most recent $300,000 renovation and redecoration at the newly renamed 39-bed Paul Oliver Living and Rehabilitation Center.
