New Administrator Selected for Hospital
Kevin Rogols will join Kalkaska Memorial Health Center in February 2014

Munson Healthcare President and CEO Ed Ness announced today that Kevin L. Rogols will succeed the retiring Jim Austin as administrator of Kalkaska Memorial Health Center.

Rogols, currently the president and chief executive officer of Sandoval Regional Medical Center in Rio Rancho, New Mexico, will join Kalkaska Memorial Health Center on Feb. 3. In addition to several hospital executive positions, he was a former vice president at Munson Medical Center, serving there from 1986 - 1991.

“Kevin will bring a wealth of leadership experience to Kalkaska Memorial Health Center in addition to his past experience in northern Michigan,” Ness said. “We welcome him to the Munson Healthcare leadership team.”

At Sandoval Regional Medical Center, Rogols has been responsible for the finalization of design, construction, implementation, and accreditation/certification of a new 300,000 square foot community teaching hospital which opened its doors in July 2012. The hospital was recognized as a “2012 Best Place to Work” by the New Mexico Business Weekly and recently received Press Ganey’s “Guardian of Excellence Award” for inpatient satisfaction.

Previous to his role in New Mexico, he served as chief executive officer at Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Colorado, and prior to that, was the president and CEO of Johnston Health in Smithfield, N.C.

“I am delighted to become the administrator of Kalkaska Memorial Health Center and join the Kalkaska community,” Rogols said.

Rogols is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and Medical Group Management Association. Austin, who has led the hospital for 24 years, will retire at the end of February 2014.
