Occupational Therapy (OT) professionals at Munson provide quality care to promote independence with activities of daily living (ADL). These may include tasks such as self-care, home making, childcare, work-related tasks, and community mobility. OTs may recommend adaptive equipment for dressing or bathroom transfer safety to facilitate independence in ADLs.
Munson OTs evaluate and treat patients who have decreased independence or safety in ADL tasks. On the Rehabilitation Unit, OTs provide intensive treatment to advance ADL independence following an injury or illness. Treatment may include upper extremity movement and coordination, and visual perceptual skills as they relate to ADL tasks.
