Injections

Injections may be recommended if you have tried managing symptoms of spinal disorders in ways that lead to unsuccessful relief. Spinal injections made of steroidal composites are used for temporary relief from chronic neck or back pain, or to reveal the cause of pain. The purpose of an injectable procedure is to alleviate nerve swelling and irritation. This process often reveals a specific nerve causing the pain. Steroid injections may be recommended if you have tried managing symptoms of spinal disorders in ways that lead to unsuccessful relief.

Spinal injections are usually implemented in a series of three within a six-month period of time.  This series of repetition is important as the anti-inflammatory effects of steroid compounds wear off over time. Other options and more invasive procedures, such as implantable devices to electrically or pharmacologically modify the response to pain, may be necessary to manage chronic neck or back pain when injections bring minimal to no relief to complex painful conditions. These procedures are commonly provided through Munson Spine and Nerve Treatment Center.
