Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Laboratory provides convenient access to a full range of Laboratory Services for residents and visitors of the Benzie region. The laboratory has evolved to incorporate highly-sophisticated diagnostic instrumentation and technology operated by highly-skilled, service-oriented employees who deliver timely and accurate results.
Paul Oliver Laboratory has specimen collection facilities conveniently located throughout the Benzie region at the Crystal Lake Clinics in Interlochen, Benzonia, and Frankfort. We also have services available at the Manitou Health Center in Empire, as well as the main Laboratory at the hospital.
Off site service representatives are trained in phlebotomy and can collect laboratory specimens and perform INR testing at their locations. Specimens are sent to the hospital laboratory, where many tests are performed. Testing that is not performed at Paul Oliver is sent by courier twice a day to Munson Medical Center Laboratory in Traverse City. Munson refers some testing to Mayo Medical Laboratories. All of our laboratories are connected electronically so all results are maintained in your medical record. This ensures that your results will be available in a timely manner without the need to travel to Traverse City.
Paul Oliver Memorial Hospital Laboratory at the main hospital is staffed by ASCP registered technologists and phlebotomists. The laboratory is CLIA88 certified and accredited by the College of American Pathologists which completes random inspections every two years to ensure the lab meets rigorous quality standards. Paul Oliver Laboratory provides pathology services by board certified pathologists of Munson Healthcare Laboratories.
