Frequently Asked Questions
Can I register on the day of the race?
Yes! But you’ll only have between 7:30 - 8:30 am on the day of the race to do so. Early registration is recommended.
Will awards be given?
Please stick around following the race for our awards ceremony. Medals will be given to our top finishers, as well as some unique Run the Run finishers (your pet or your stroller just might qualify!)
Can I walk?
Yes! Walkers are welcome. Please start closer to the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time!
Can I bring my stroller or my dog?
Yes! Strollers, wheelchairs, and dogs (must be on leash) are welcome. We ask that parties with dogs and strollers start near the back of the line to allow runners to make their best time.
Can I wear headphones?
While not prohibited, the use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. Runners should be aware that this is an open course, with no street closings. Race personnel will be at major intersections to monitor traffic - however please be alert at all times.
How long is the 5k race?
Five kilometers, or roughly 3.1 miles.
Where and when is packet pick-up?
Packet pick up will be located in the Payroll Workroom (Payroll & Benefits Office, 2nd floor). T-shirts and race bibs will be available for pick up during the following times: Thursday May 15th from 12pm - 4:30pm and Friday May 16th from 8am-10:30am and again from 1pm - 4:30pm. Otherwise, packets will be available on the morning of the race at the registration table in Lot H.
Do I need to pick up a packet?
Participants who registered will have a packet with their race bibs, timing chips, and shirts (if applicable). Obtaining your race bib early allows you to avoid the registration table on Saturday morning. If you have questions on this, you may email email@example.com.
Will I be timed?
Participants will have the option to be timed or untimed upon registration. The timed racer will be timed using a bib timing system provided by Runners Edge Race Timing.
What if it rains the day of the race?
Weather conditions are unpredictable so dress appropriately. Organizers reserve the right to cancel the race in the event of inclement weather.
Are spectators allowed?
Spectators are more than welcome to watch from alongside the course, provided they offer no obstruction to the course.
Where do I park?
Parking is limited on campus. We strongly encourage participants to walk, bike, park off-site, or carpool to the event. Designated parking for the event is available at Munson Family Practice Center. Where does the race start/stop?
The race will begin near the corner of Sixth and Brook streets in parking lot H to the west of Traverse Heart & Vascular. The race will end in the same lot. A map showing the location of lot H is attached.
What time should I arrive?
The race will start at 9am sharp. If you need to register additional guests, or pick up your packet, please allow extra time to do so.
What is the route like?
The course is an open course, which means there are no street closings after the race has started. There will be volunteers at intersections to monitor traffic and direct participants along the course. The course is a combination of paved roads and sidewalks. With almost 800 estimated participants, it will be a busy course. If you are walking, or have a stroller, please start at the back of the group to allow runners to make their best times. Please be alert to traffic at all times.
