    The ability to speak and be understood is important to everyone. It has been said that the loss of communication is like the amputation of a limb you never knew you had. The ability to communicate with others is a crucial function. 

    Munson Healthcare speech-language pathologists help children and adults by evaluating and treating speech and language disorders, cognitive disorders, and swallowing issues. Speech-language therapy can benefit children with developmental delays or acquired deficits to adults affected by stroke, traumatic brain injuries, head and neck cancer, and neurological or neuromuscular disorders.

    Speech-Language Pathology services for adults are available throughout northern Michigan in Cadillac, Charlevoix, Frankfort, Gaylord, Grayling, Kalkaska, Manistee, Prudenville, and Traverse City. Pediatric speech services are available through the Foster Family Community Health Center Pediatric Services in Traverse City.
