Ways to Give
We are grateful for gifts in any form. Whether you want to make an outright gift of cash now, or include Munson Healthcare in your estate planning, there are many ways to give. Because Munson Healthcare and Paul Oliver Foundation are nonprofit organizations, all gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
A Permanent Place of Honor
Sometimes a hand-written thank you note just isn't enough. Major donors to Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation and Paul Oliver Foundation also receive recognition on our donor recognition walls.
The recognition wall includes the names of those whose level of giving qualifies them to be members of Munson's designated giving "societies." Those societies include:
Cornerstone Society: Giving levels of $10,000 or more over a lifetime
Annual Leadership Giving Circle: Includes levels of annual giving of $1,000 and above
Bequests
Most often, a bequest is made as part of a person's will, stipulating that a dollar amount or percentage
of an estate be directed to Munson Healthcare, Munson Hospice, or Paul Oliver Foundation. Most bequests provide significant estate tax savings.
Many estates amassed through retirement planning today are made up in large part by IRAs, Keoghs, 401(k) plans, and profit-sharing plans. In many cases, substantial balances remain after the deaths of both the retiree and retiree’s spouse. When Munson Healthcare Regional Foundation or Paul Oliver Foundation is named as a beneficiary, income and estate taxes may be avoided.
Bequests can be made by preparing a new will or adding a codicil to your present will or living trust. All legal documents should be prepared by and with the advice of your attorney.
