Munson Healthcare announced starting Monday, Aug. 14, the Walk-In Clinic at the Indian River location has switched to a "same-day care" model, offering a minimum of 52 appointments per day during the week, and 26 appointments on Saturday for anyone in the community, including those visiting the area.
The new, by appointment only service, will be housed at the OMH Medical Group – Indian River building at 3860 S. Straits Hwy., and is part of Munson Healthcare’s patient-centric care vision. The move to the new scheduling model will increase patient access and quality, help significantly reduce wait times for patients.
“Offering patients convenient scheduling options six days a week will enhance their access to care as well as decrease extended wait times associated with walk-in services,” said Chris Squire, Community President at Otsego Memorial Hospital. “We are excited to launch this new by-appointment only service and make continued progress towards a more patient-centric model of care.”
The same-day care service model has been implemented at other primary care clinics within the Munson Healthcare system with great success. Same-day care appointments at Indian River are available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Appointments are available to anyone in the community, including seasonal residents, visitors, and vacationers. To schedule a same-day appointment, please call the clinic at 231-238-0581.
