CMS Gives Three Munson Healthcare Hospitals Five Stars

05.03.2021

Three Munson Healthcare acute care hospitals recently received a five-star ranking from CMS on its Hospital Compare website, placing the facilities among the top 10 percent of hospitals in the nation.

Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital, Munson Healthcare Otsego Memorial Hospital, and Munson Medical Center were all rated as five stars.

The hospitals were among 455 nationally to achieve the highest ranking of more than 4,500 hospitals nationally measured by CMS. Only 21 hospitals in the state achieved the highest ranking.

“These ranking reflects the continued efforts of our healthcare team to provide safe, high-quality care for our patients each and every day,” said Joe Santangelo, M.D., Chief Quality and Safety Officer for Munson Healthcare. “I want to applaud our staff for all of their hard work, and thank our communities for their continued confidence in our efforts as we strive to keep them at the center of all we do.”

Hospital Compare was established in 2015 to help consumers make sense of overall quality information when choosing a hospital. The CMS Hospital Compare rating system methodology for 2021 involves measures from five quality categories - mortality, safety of care, readmission, patient experience, and timely and effective care.
