Munson Medical Center Names New Chief Medical Officer

Munson Medical Center President and CEO Matt Wille announced today that Walt Noble, M.D., FACS, has been named the chief medical officer for the hospital.

In this role, he will provide the physician perspective on, and leadership around, the direction of healthcare delivery in alignment with the Munson Healthcare strategic direction and ensure high standards of quality, continuity, efficiency, and effectiveness of patient care.  
 
Dr. Noble has served as interim chief medical officer for Munson Medical Center since January. He has been on the active medical staff of Munson Medical Center since 1989 and has been the chief surgical services officer, chair of the Department of Surgery and interim trauma medical director, as well as part of the Trauma Acute Care Surgery Service.

“Dr. Noble has done an outstanding job as interim CMO and has support from providers, leaders, and staff,” Wille said. “He has strong relationships with the medical staff, demonstrates professionalism, has extensive knowledge of our organization, and leads with integrity and character.” 

Dr. Noble has been an instructor at the University of Michigan and Northwest Michigan College. He holds a Bachelor of Science in chemistry from Marquette University in Wisconsin, graduated medical school from the University of Wisconsin, and completed his residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. 

“I have enjoyed working with the medical staff, hospital leadership, and entire healthcare team at Munson Medical Center for many years. I feel fortunate for the opportunity to continue working with many friends and colleagues at the medical center,” Dr. Noble said. “In my role as chief medical officer, I am excited to work with our entire team as they provide the safest and highest quality healthcare for our patients and community.”
