VIDEO | Volunteers Make an Impact at Munson Medical Center

11.08.2018

Last year, the incredible volunteers at Munson Medical Center donated 34,000 hours of their time. We are truly blessed to have nearly 350 volunteers (and counting) helping to greet our patients, assist them with wayfinding, and so much more.

One of these superstar volunteers is Lois Castle, a gift shop volunteer who has been with us since 2010. Each week, Lois helps visitors find special gifts for loved ones and rings up treats for employees who need something sweet or fun to help them recharge for the day.

All proceeds from gift shop purchases – approximately $100,000 per year – are donated to equipment or special projects that benefit our patients or community. That’s the incredible feat our gift shop volunteers make possible each and every year because of their generosity with their time.

To learn more about the impact of our volunteers and the gift shop, check out this video where Munson Healthcare Chief Operating Officer and Munson Medical Center President Al Pilong talks with Volunteer Services and Gift Shop Manager Theresa Stachnik and Beverly Cady, a nurse in the Medical Procedure Room, about a new scope purchased with funds from the gift shop.
