02.06.2019

"I love the concept of talking about health around the table," says Rachel Sytsma Reed about the cooking classes she is teaching at the Charlevoix Wellness Workshop.

Rachel changed her diet at age 15 after showing signs of heart disease. This has lead to reducing the number of medications. She now teaches the community how to cook and follow a heart-healthy diet at the free cooking classes.

Dr. Tony Ochoa, cardiologist at Munson Medical Center, also talks about how nutrition impacts heart health. He recommends to "Get rid of the convenience foods."
