EMS Education in Northern Michigan
Are you interested in an exciting career in Emergency Medical Services? Munson Regional EMS Education (MREMSE) offers the courses you need to succeed. Current courses include EMT Basic and Paramedic. Other courses offered are EMR and AEMT.
MREMSE also offers American Heart Association classes, including First Aid and Heartsaver CPR. These are perfect for camp counselors and day care providers. BLS, ACLS and PALS courses are specifically designed for all licensure of healthcare providers.

Most classes are held at Foster Family Community Health Center (FFCHC) EMS Education Classroom in Traverse City, formerly Munson Community Health Center (MCHC). View the complete list of current classes and enrollment details.

Michigan Department of Health and Human Services: MREMSE is an approved EMS Education Program Sponsor by the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services. (Approval # P-02-1038)
American Heart Association: Our AHA Training Center is an authorized provider of American Heart Association accredited education programs, including First Aid, CPR, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.
National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians: Our program is authorized to provide Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS). This is a trauma course that promotes critical thinking while addressing multi-system trauma through the latest evidence-based practices.
CAAHEP and the Accreditation of Paramedic Programs: As of September 21, 2018, Munson Regional EMS Education is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (www.caahep.org) upon the recommendation of CoAEMSP Committee of Accreditation of Educational Programs for the Emergency Medical Services Professions.

Classes for the General Public
Would you know what to do if you saw a child or adult who was choking, bleeding profusely, or needed CPR? Munson Medical Center EMS Education offers courses for the general public to teach life-saving skills to anyone who may be in a position to rescue a child or adult in a life-threatening situation.
Classes are open to those who want to learn basic skills, including employees in the workplace, day care employees, babysitters, firefighters, police, airline personnel, security guards, or family members of patients at high risk for sudden cardiac death who may need to respond to an emergency.
