Community Health Needs Assessment
Every three years, each Munson Healthcare hospital completes and submits a Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) and implementation strategy to the federal government.
Conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment is the first step in developing a community health improvement plan. The assessment describes a community’s most pressing health needs after analysis of a variety of health-related data.
Each community’s CHNA serves as a foundation and resource to develop a collaborative plan to effectively address health needs. More than 150 initiatives have been implemented by Munson Healthcare hospitals and community health partners to improve health in our region.
Taking a regional approach to this assessment is important in part because it maximizes resources, helps us understand local and regional patterns, assists in strengthening partnerships, and aligns priorities and strategies across the region and organizations for a greater impact on community health.
