myWellbeing

Well-being means more than just eating enough vegetables and going to the gym. It encompasses a holistic picture of your health, from the traditional ideas of healthy food and staying active, to other important aspects of well-being, such as emotional health, work-life balance, financial wellness, managing stress, and getting quality sleep.

It also means having a good support system of family and friends, being resilient when life throws you a curve ball, having a sense of purpose in your life, and feeling financially secure.

Having tools, resources, and support available to you when you need them most can help you stay on track on your journey to being the happiest and healthiest version of yourself.

Stress Management

The link between stress and poor health is well documented. Everyone feels stress at times. The key is to manage it, so it doesn’t manage you. If you are overstressed, regular aerobic exercise is a good way to bring back balance to your life. Running, swimming, biking and even brisk walking will cause your brain to release endorphins. These are natural chemicals that can decrease your perception of pain, boost your mood, and reduce your level of stress. Exercise also helps you sleep, one of your body’s natural medicines for stress. Even a gentle walk or a slow bike ride can take your focus off your problems, opening your mind to more creative problem-solving.

Munson Healthcare offers many ways to reduce your stress. Yoga, massage therapy, sports clubs, and Zumba are just a few options.
