Employee Referral Program – Get Paid Sooner and Easier

Employee Referrals often lead to great matches! Over the last year, we have had more than 1200 potential candidates referred to us by members of our Healthcare Team. In line with our value of Exceptional Experiences, and based on feedback from employees, we have improved how we receive and pay for referrals.


What are the benefits of changing?

  • Simpler referral process: Your referred candidate(s) identifies you and your email address directly on their application. That’s it! No more forms. 
  • A quicker bonus payout: As a thank you for actively matching us with amazing people like you, employees will get paid about 4 weeks after candidate starts (versus 90 days later).

How to earn your bonus:

  • When your referral applies, they must identify you on their application(s): both your name and your MHC.net email address.
  • If your referral applies for multiple jobs, your name and MHC.net email address must be on the application for the role the candidate is hired into. Your referral must put your name and MHC.net email address on EACH application. Names cannot be added after applications are submitted (no exceptions).
  • Only one employee can be named on the application.
  • If the candidate is hired, you will be paid approximately 4 weeks after the new hire’s start date.
  • Any referrals submitted by an employee prior to September 17, 2023 that resulted in a hire and has not yet been paid will be paid by the end of September.

Program Details:

Anyone who refers a candidate who is hired may receive $2,000 - $3,000, according to the chart below:

*Amounts are pro-rated based on FTE of new hire if less than full-time.

Additional Guidelines:

  • There are no restrictions on the number of people an employee can refer.
  • Referred candidates must not be currently employed by Munson Healthcare. If the candidate was previously employed by Munson Healthcare, they must have a gap in service of 12 months or greater for the referral to be eligible.
  • Temporary, On-call, PRN, TOC, physician roles and contracted positions are not currently eligible for referral awards.
  • Most Munson Healthcare employees are eligible for the bonus with the following exceptions: 
    • The Talent Acquisition Team is not eligible
    • Physicians are not eligible
    • Managers are eligible for the bonus as long as the referred candidate is hired into an area in which the manager does not have oversight
    • The bonus is not available for employees of contracted service partners
  • Part-time roles will be paid out on a prorated value based on the FTE of the position
  • Bonus amount is pre-tax
  • Bonus amounts and eligibility will be reassessed periodically for the duration of the program and are subject to change
