Senior Health Education Series 

The Senior Health Education series is planned for 9:30 - 10:30 am on the second Thursday of the month. 

  • Mar. 14  Naturopathic Medicine
  • Apr. 11 – Swallowing, Speaking, and Throat Care
  • May 9 – Medication Management
  • June 13 – Caring for a Loved One with Dementia
  • July 11 – Injury and Accident Prevention
  • Aug. 8 – Advance Care Planning
  • Sept. 12 – Infection Prevention & Antibiotic Stewardship

Fitness Education Series

The fitness education classes are led by either a certified athletic trainer or physical therapist. 

  • Mar. 27 at 1 pm – Getting Started: Creating a Fitness Routine
  • Apr. 24 at 1 pm – Free Weights versus Machine Weights
  • May 8 at 5:30 pm – Free Running and Walking Assessments (registration is required for this session; call 231-352-9661)
  • May 22 at 1 pm – Equipment Tutorial
  • June 12 at 5:30 pm – Knee Pain
  • June 26 at 1 pm – The Role of Exercise with Diabetes
  • July 10 at 5:30 pm – Prevent Running and Exercise Injuries
  • July 24 at 1 pm – Strength Training Across the Lifespan
  • Aug. 21 at 5:30 pm – Body Mechanics Training for Parents and Coaches
  • Aug. 28 at 1 pm – Supplements
  • Sept. 11 at 5:30 pm – Lower Back Pain
  • Sept. 25 at 1 pm – Taking Care of Sore Muscles
