Help Before and After Surgery

Before any outpatient surgery, you should expect to receive a packet in the mail from Munson Healthcare Surgical Services. You will be asked to complete a health history form. In addition, a nurse will have a 20- to 30-minute phone call with you to discuss your health history and complete a health assessment, including a review of any medications you take.

If you are going home the same day as your surgery, please arrange for a responsible adult to drive you home. For your safety, your surgery may be canceled if you do not have a ride home.

You can expect to receive individualized attention throughout your outpatient surgery experience with us. You will receive a follow-up call from a Munson Healthcare Surgical Services nurse after surgery to see how you are feeling, ask about the surgical site, and answer your questions.
