Current PGY2 Pharmacy Resident Bio

Courtney VanHouzen, PharmD 

Courtney was born and raised in Traverse City, MI.  She completed her undergraduate degree and played volleyball at Hope College and she graduated with her doctorate in pharmacy from the University of Michigan. Her clinical interests are embedded in oncology but specifically she enjoys providing quality and compassionate direct-patient care, including supportive care management, interprofessional collaboration, and patient education. She completed her PGY-1 at Munson Medical Center and early-committed to stay on for her PGY-2 here at Cowell. She appreciates the collaborative, patient centric culture here at Cowell and loves being able to give back to the Northern Michigan community. Outside of work, you will often find Courtney out on the beach volleyball courts or tucked away in one of the many coffee shops around Traverse City indulging her caffeine addiction.
