Dr. Nester is a Michigan native born in Grand Rapids and raised in Greenville. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, performed his residency at Geisinger Medical Center, and fellowship at Ochsner Health System.
Dr. Nester chose orthopedic surgery because it was a direct way for him to help others keep an active lifestyle. Whether it is a broken bone or torn ligament, he loves being able to help patients return to their prior level of activity. With a subspeciality in sports medicine, Dr. Nester enjoys caring for athletes and treating injuries associated with sports participation.
“My favorite part of practicing medicine is the ability to get to know so many people from different walks of life. I am excited to be in northern Michigan and happy to help patients and other providers in any way I can,” Dr. Nester said.
