Specialty

Emergency Medicine

Emergency Medicine physicians have expertise in making immediate medical decisions to prevent death or further injury. They provide immediate recognition, evaluation, care, and stabilization of patients in response to acute illness and injury.

Hospitalist

A hospitalist coordinates treatment with a primary care physician, but will be the one who cares for patients in the hospital in place of a primary care physician. The hospitalist works exclusively in the hospital, and attends to patients from the time of admission through discharge. Hospitalists examine, evaluate, order tests, prescribe medications and follow the patients' recovery process on a day-to-day basis, and communicates with the patients' primary care physician to maintain continuity of care.

Urgent Care Medicine

Urgent care physicians treat individuals who have non-life-threatening medical conditions and who are unable to consult with their primary care physician to receive prompt diagnosis and treatment. These services include physical examinations and diagnosis and treatment for minor injuries and illnesses. Urgent care centers are not emergency rooms and individuals with serious or life-threatening emergencies will be referred to a local hospital emergency room for treatment.
