Our Facilities

The primary ambulatory training site for this program is the Munson Family Medicine Center. This full-service, freestanding, hospital-owned family medicine center has examination and procedure rooms, as well as resident and faculty office space. Trainees provide comprehensive and longitudinal care to their individual patient panel under direct faculty supervision. Progressive responsibility for patient management is emphasized throughout the three-year program. Residents also share night and weekend call.

Our hospital is Munson Medical Center, a 442-bed nonprofit hospital serving as northern Michigan’s regional referral center. It is the largest of the eight Munson Healthcare system hospitals located throughout northern Michigan. Munson Medical Center is nationally recognized for superior quality care and operational performance. It is home to:

  • Only verified Level 2 Trauma Center in Northern Michigan
  • Webber Heart Center is home to one of two open heart surgery programs in the region
  • Internationally recognized Street Medicine Program
  • Only Neonatal Intensive Care Unit in Northern Michigan
  • Recognized as Northern Michigan’s first and only Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center by The Joint Commission
