Family Practice Residency Class of 2028

Nathan Fischer, MD

Dr. Fischer grew up in Gaylord, MI. He attended the University of Michigan where he earned his B.S. in Cellular and Molecular Biology. Afterwords, he attended Western Michigan Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine. He and his wife Makenzie and their daughter Leah are excited to be returning to northern Michigan for residency. In his free time he enjoys fishing, hunting, hiking, and spending time with his family. His dogs (Arthur and Annie) are half Australian Shepherd and half Golden Retriever sharing one brain cell between them.
Abigail Howell, MD

Dr. Howell was born and raised in Clarkston, Michigan. She moved to Flint to attend Kettering University, during which she worked as a scribe at Hurley Medical Center, and earned a B.S. in biochemistry. She went on to receive her medical education at Central Michigan University. She is enthusiastic about becoming a full spectrum family medicine physician to help meet the needs of her community and create a safe space for her patients, with passions for reproductive and gender-affirming care. In her spare time, she likes to take walks, do yoga, and she is looking forward to beach days and kayaking in the summer!
Rebekah Weeks, DO

Dr. Weeks grew up in Troy and South Lyon, Michigan. She attended the University of Michigan, receiving her BSE in Biomedical Engineering. She received her medical education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine (MSUCOM). Her interests include Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine and LGBTQ+ health. In her free time, she enjoys dancing, knitting, and visiting the Grand Traverse Bay. She is excited to be staying in Traverse City for residency (after being one of the MSUCOM base hospital students in Traverse City) and looks forward to serving the Northern Michigan communities.
Nicholas Schileru, DO

Dr. Schileru grew up in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. He attended Oakland University and earned a B.S. in Biology and an M.S. in Chemistry. He then completed his medical school training at Midwestern University in Chicago. It has always been his goal to live in Traverse City and he is excited to serve the Northern Michigan community. He loves to spend time gardening, cooking new recipes, traveling across the world, playing piano, and going for bike rides.
Breanna Tribelhorn, MD

Dr. Tribelhorn was born and raised in Houghton Lake, Michigan. She attended UofM-Flint receiving a B.S. in Biology. She received her medical education at Ross University School of Medicine and completed her core clinical rotations in Chicago, IL. She is passionate about women’s health and is excited to be back home in serving local communities. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, paddle boarding, water skiing, and cuddling with her cats.
Jessica Wyn, MD

Dr. Wyn was born and raised in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She attended Grand Valley State University, where she received her B.S. in Biomedical Sciences. She completed her medical training at the University of Vermont in Burlington, Vermont. She is excited to return to Michigan with her partner and their two dogs. In her free time, she enjoys being active outdoors, particularly fly fishing, rock climbing, biking, and backpacking. She is passionate about full-spectrum rural medicine and looks forward to serving her community in Northern Michigan.
