The Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center brings 24/7/365 Crisis intervention, stabilization services, and support under one roof in a physically, psychologically, and emotionally safe environment that promotes healing, wellness, and growth.
The crisis center welcomes all people, all ages, and all forms of insurance (copays and deductibles will apply for those with insurance).

About the Crisis and Access Center
If you or a loved one is experiencing an urgent mental health crisis that is non-life-threatening, such as severe depression, anxiety, manic episodes, suicidal thoughts, or severe symptoms due to substance use disorder, the supportive staff at Grand Traverse Mental Health Crisis and Access Center can help.
The center’s highly trained professionals, including some with their own experience with mental illness or substance use disorder, can provide compassionate, patient-centered intervention, support, and resources as well as a referral to the center’s Psychiatric Urgent Care for medication-supported therapy.

Beginning July 7 - Psychiatric Urgent Care
Monday - Friday, 8 am - 5 pm
Patients who are triaged to the center’s psychiatric urgent care will work with a psychiatrist who can prescribe medications or other treatments as needed.

*Psychiatric urgent care is an intermediate level of care between community-based services and hospital care services that can often prevent urgent situations from escalating.
**The Living Room model of mental healthcare is a safe, home-like, non-clinical setting, where people can receive crisis intervention, stabilization services, and support from staff who have their own experience with mental illness or substance use disorder.
The Center has been made possible through a:
- $5 million American Rescue Plan Act allocation from Grand Traverse County.
- $5 million Michigan Hospital Association grant designated for pediatric programming and services.
