Located in Charlevoix, Mich., about 50 miles north of Traverse City, Charlevoix Hospital is one of nine hospitals in the Munson Healthcare system, northern Michigan’s leading and largest provider of healthcare. Charlevoix Hospital was established in 1919. The 25-bed acute care hospital serves Charlevoix and northern Antrim County residents, as well as thousands of vacationers each year.

Top 100 Critical Access Hospital
Charlevoix Hospital was named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) in the United States in 2022 by the Chartis Center for Rural Health.
National Hospital Charitable Services Award
Charlevoix Hospital School Nurses Program was among only 10 programs in the nation named a Program of Excellence by the Hospital Charitable Services Awards, a national program sponsored by Jackson Healthcare. This multifaceted School Nurses Program was created and fully funded by Charlevoix Hospital and serves community residents who experience the greatest disparities in health status and access by providing four registered nurses in nine local school systems – where previously there were none – at no cost to the schools.
2015 Ludwig Community Benefit Award
The Michigan Health & Hospital Association named Charlevoix Hospital as one of four winners of its 2015 Ludwig Community Benefit Award. The award is presented to member organizations integrally involved in collaborative programs to improve the health and well-being of area residents. The hospital was honored for implementing a School Nurses program which, among other benefits, reduced chronic school absenteeism by 6 percent in the first three years.

Heart and Cancer Care
Munson Healthcare’s visiting heart and cancer specialists hold regular clinics for diagnostic and follow-up exams, so patients can receive specialty care close to their home. Our beautiful Chemotherapy and Infusion Center overlooking the calming waters of Lake Michigan is an important part of treating cancer in our community.
Radiology and Surgical Care
From general and complex surgeries such as joint replacement and neurosurgical spine procedures to routine diagnostic exams, we provide the care you need. Full radiology services are available, including conventional and open MRI, CT scans, nuclear medicine imaging, diagnostic ultrasound and X-ray, digital mammography, and bone density tests.
Emergency Services and Urgent Care
Illness and injury happen 24/7 and we are always open for emergencies. Our Urgent Care also is open 10 hours a day for less serious injuries and ailments.
