Stroke Support Group Hosts April Q & A Session

04.05.2021

The Grand Traverse Bay Area Stroke Club will host an open discussion of stroke and stroke recovery during its April 14 virtual meeting.

This month the group will focus on answering practical questions from stroke survivors and their caregivers related to improving life after stroke. Things like:

  • How do I button or zip my pants when my dominant arm is impaired?
  • How do I apply toothpaste to my toothbrush without making a mess?
  • How do I address cognitive issues like confusion and anger?

Questions about stroke or stroke recovery may be submitted in advance via email to cfreeman@mhc.net. No names will be used during the discussion.

The group will meet via telephone from 2:30 - 4:30 p.m. Participants will receive the conference dial-in phone number and access code by registering at this URL: munsonhealthcare.org/strokeclub.

Melinda Hollands, L.M.S.W. at Munson Medical Center’s Patient Care Management Department will facilitate. Melinda has practiced social work for 34 years including 21 years with Munson Healthcare.
