Munson Healthcare Executive Director of Women’s and Children’s Services Joan Rickli announces the appointment of Jacques-Brett Burgess, M.D., as Service Line Medical Director, Pediatrics for the health system.
The new part-time administrative position is part of Munson Healthcare efforts to develop and enhance pediatric services.
“I am very excited to have Dr Burgess as my partner for the pediatric service line,” Rickli said. “His energy, wisdom, and passion for children and their families is palpable and I know that with his leadership we will continue to bring the best in pediatric care to our communities.”
Dr. Burgess will serve as a senior physician leader and member of the Munson Healthcare leadership team as well as continue his part-time Munson Medical Center hospitalist role caring for pediatric and adult patients through SOUND Physicians.
Board certified in Pediatrics and Internal Medicine, Dr. Burgess is a graduate of Michigan State University College of Human Medicine and received a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Michigan. He has received many quality, patient satisfaction, and teaching awards during his career and serves on a number of quality, research and process improvement committees at Munson Healthcare. He also is part of collaborative initiatives with DeVos Children's Hospital and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Dr. Burgess has provided patient care at Munson Healthcare facilities since 2001. He is the president elect for the Munson Medical Center medical staff.
